URBANA – This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Certified Livestock Managers Training program.

Around a thousand livestock producers have participated in each of the eight three-year cycles. Managers now have a convenient online opportunity to complete this certification. Also, four virtual live webinars will be held which will provide Illinois livestock producers the manure management training needed to meet the requirements of the state’s Livestock Management Facilities Act.

Extension educator Jay Solomon says online training should be considered the first, preferred option for everyone. Producers take online training which consists of nine lessons.

Online training can be accessed at go.illinois.edu/CLMT for a cost of $40. Any questions can be directed to Nesli Akdeniz at 217-300-2644. Those wishing to experience a live webinar can choose from four options: Wednesday, Jan. 20 at 9 a.m., Friday, January 29 at 9 a.m., Tuesday, February 9 at 9 a.m. or Thursday, March 4 at 9 a.m.
