Faber plans to run in 53rd

An ag teacher and FFA advisor at Pontiac Township High School has announced his candidacy for the Illinois 53rd State Senate District.

Jesse Faber points to his experience in agribusiness and public policy along with his passion for teaching in giving him a unique perspective on what the state needs moving forward.

“In Springfield, I will be a bold voice for commonsense, conservative policies that will save our families, farmers, businesses and children,” Faber said in a news release. “We need a strong and competitive economy and lower taxes.”

Growing up with 4-H, FFA and the Illinois Farm Bureau Young Leaders program, Faber feels he is better prepared for community leadership today. Faber has served for over a decade on the Livingston County Farm Bureau Board, president of the Illinois Association of Vocational Agriculture Teachers, a 4-H leader, livestock judging coach and chair of the Illinois Agriculture Education Legislative Committee.

“My experience on the farm showing cattle, teaching and serving our community prepared me to serve in the General Assembly and people know the kind of representative I’ll be for our region because of my proven track record,” noted Faber.

Faber and his wife, Mary, live in Pontiac with their two children, Ava and Eli.
