2020 ties 2016 as hottest year

Weather experts are reporting 2020 tied 2016 for the hottest year on record.

A service out of the European Union released new information which suggests warming of the planet is speeding up. Data indicated the six years since 2015 were the six warmest ever registered and that the last year was tied for the hottest ever.

The EU’s climate change service director said this information is a reminder of the urgency of ambitious emissions reductions in order to prevent adverse climate impacts in the future.
