Magnum loaded with connectivity

DECATUR – Case IH may have pivoted away from the cabless tractor concept, but the company is still focusing on automating more in-cab tasks.

Customer productivity and uptime are the ideas behind the new AFS Connect Magnum tractor. A new arm rest is integrated with the company’s new operating system. This was displayed during the 2019 Farm Progress Show in Decatur last August.

“One of the biggest features of the tractor is the connectivity,” explained Chris Dempsey, AFS marketing manager for CASE IH North America. “We brought features to market like remote display viewing – the capability to log in and see what’s exactly going on in the display.”

A new remote service tool allows dealers to provide support from several miles away and software updates now resemble those on a cell phone or tablet. Case IH also introduced a new Magnum 400 model this year and AFS Harvest Command is available for combine automation.

Growers will have the ability to start looking more at the depth of tillage tools and mapping tillage information through AFS Soil Command.

“We are starting to evaluate things like prescription tillage and what that might mean for us,” Dempsey said.
