USDA has approved a request from Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker that all of the state’s counties be declared ag disaster areas.

Farmers can now qualify for emergency low-interest loans to assist with their farming operations. The USDA move could help draw more attention to the issue says Illinois Department of Agriculture Director John Sullivan.

More information on the federal help can be obtained from your local Farm Service Agency office.
