Vote for local farmer to help school

An area farmer is among the national finalists in a contest to win a dream trip and help communities win money.

Dean Atkins of Atkins Seed Service is in the running to win $10,000 to support the Prairie Central High School track and football field. To vote, simply visit www.poweroverweeds.com, scroll down and click on Dean’s name.

Other finalists in the contest from Resicore Herbicide come from Minnesota, South Dakota, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota and Indiana. There is a one vote limit per person per day and the voting period is open through this Sunday, April 22.

The winners will be announced after May 20.
