GRIDLEY – Farmer Chris Stoller was taking advantage of this week’s nice weather by spraying corn south of Gridley on a recent afternoon.

With the long stretch of nice weather, Stoller has been able to complete quite a bit of fieldwork.

“Right now, our conditions are looking pretty decent. We haven’t had too many drowned-out spots,” Stoller told The Central Illinois Farm Network.

Stoller has observed a few thin areas out in the field, but considers himself fortunate for the most part. His corn was planted in a timely manner this spring and the plants have really taken off with the correct moisture and temperature. Stoller was lucky enough to get all of the soybeans in the ground before the big rains hit.
