Frustration continues in Springfield

Frustration levels are high in Springfield as the Senate is expected to move ahead with a grand bargain dealing with 13 pieces of legislation to move forward on a state budget.

“All eyes will be on the Senate and then to see what we do in the House,” explained State Rep. Dan Brady (R-105th) at last weekend’s Prairie Central FFA Farm and Home Show.

Brady believes it is up to the House to work with Gov. Rauner’s budget blueprint and fine-tune it. He says it will take a combination of cuts and new revenue, but the difficulty still lies between the speaker and governor.

Brady was impressed with the number of people who turned out for Saturday’s farm show in Forrest.

“It’s just a good reminder of what the backbone of the community and the state really is and that’s agriculture.”

The 105th district Brady covers includes a large portion of Bloomington-Normal and parts of eastern McLean County. This entails the Route 24 towns of Gridley and Chenoa and points east into Livingston County including Fairbury, Forrest and Strawn.
