Crop production, grain stocks info

USDA released the crop production and grain stocks report on Thursday and here is the information on Illinois:
Corn stocks in all positions on December 1, 2016 totaled 1.97 billion bushels, up 8 percent from December 1, 2015. On-farm stocks totaled 1.05 billion bushels, while off-farm stocks totaled 924 million bushels. The September - November 2016 indicated disappearance is 498 million bushels. Soybean stocks in all positions on December 1, 2016 totaled 482 million bushels, up 6 percent from December 1, 2015. On-farm stocks totaled 230 million bushels, while off-farm stocks totaled 252 million bushels.
The September - November 2016 indicated disappearance is 138 million bushels. All wheat stocks in all positions on December 1, 2016 totaled 42.5 million bushels, up 30 percent from December 1, 2015. On-farm stocks totaled 3.55 million bushels, while off-farm stocks totaled 39.0 million bushels. The September - November 2016 indicated disappearance is 2.95 million bushels.
Corn: Planted area, at 11.6 million acres, is down 1 percent from 2015. Corn for grain was harvested on 11.5 million acres, down less than 1 percent from the previous year. The corn yield is estimated at 197 bushels per acre, up 22 bushels from 2015. Production is estimated at 2.26 billion bushels, up 12 percent from last year. This is the second highest yield and third highest production on record.
Soybeans: Planted area, at 10.1 million acres, up 3 percent from 2015. Harvested area, at 10.05 million acres, is up 3 percent from the previous year. The soybean yield is estimated at 59 bushels per acre, up 3 bushels from 2015 and a new record high for the state. Production is estimated at a record high 593 million bushels, up 9 percent from the previous year.
