FAIRBURY – Vendors such as Precision Planting, Ag Leader and 360 Yield Center were on hand at a recent open house hosted by Jenner Precision of Fairbury.

The business specializes in showing farmers what they can do with high-speed planting, every row shutoff sprayer control and electric drives. Jenner Precision general manager Bryan Fehr notes the importance of yield monitors, which growers use to know what they are getting out of the fields.

“If we’re doing late-season nitrogen or spraying fungicide is it paying? It’s all on the go and you can see it,” explained Fehr. “There are some pretty sweet deals going on now until the end of September.”

With Ag Leader’s new In Command display, growers can do side-by-side comparisons or they can have an iPad in the cab alongside the Precision Planting 20/20 monitor.

When it comes to preparing combines for fall harvest, Fehr recommends making sure all of the paddles are on the chains and that the header height control is working properly. Also, farmers should make sure the fuse on the moisture sensor is working and that it is not blown.

According to Fehr, Jenner Precision has been at the Fairbury location since 2013. Jenner covers a territory stretching from Decatur to Interstate 80, Peoria and over to the Indiana line. Three sales representatives work out of the Fairbury location along with three full-time service technicians.

The July 14 open house included a pork chop meal and bouncy house for the kids. Fehr said the event was changed to the evening to accommodate more people and the decision appeared to pay off for the business.
