Farmer mental health program offered
CHAMPAIGN – A University of Illinois initiative can help farmers get mental health care they need.
The Illinois Agricultural Mental Health Voucher Program connects producers with local mental health professionals. Vouchers can be requested by farmers and their family members for three free behavioral health sessions, according to Josie Rudolphi, an assistant professor with the U of I.
So far, there are over 40 mental health providers participating in the program with more expected. Anyone involved in the ag industry that is interested can visit the website go.illinois.edu/farmstressvoucher.
