Ban proposed on non-cage free eggs
Under proposed legislation in the State Senate from Aurora Democrat Linda Holmes, non-cage-free eggs would be banned in Illinois.
This would prevent the sale of eggs from a chicken that is kept inside a cage. Cage-free chickens are described by USDA has those that can wander around, in a yard or in a building.
Anyone violating the proposed ban would face a $2,000 a day fine.
