Trump announces more aid for farmers

More help is coming to farmers in the United States as President Trump has announced an additional $13 billion for growers impacted by the coronavirus.

The president made the announcement during a rally Thursday in Mosinee, Wisconsin. Previously, a $19 billion aid package was announced to assist farmers back in April. Plan details were expected to be released Friday morning.

Trump said at the rally the funds will help agriculture, including Wisconsin’s “incredible dairy” and cranberry farmers, according to information on www.thehill.com.

Funds released last spring were part of the CARES Act, with the idea of assisting farmers during supply chain disruptions and less income due to shelter-in-place orders that shut down restaurants.
