Illinois stocks, acreage info


The following is information released for Illinois by USDA-NASS on Tuesday.

IL GRAIN STOCKS:

Corn stocks in all positions on June 1, 2020 totaled 747 million bushels, down 23 percent from June 1, 2019. On-farm stocks totaled 345 million bushels, while off-farm stocks totaled 402 million bushels. The March - May 2020 indicated disappearance is 480 million bushels.

Soybean stocks in all positions on June 1, 2020 totaled 217 million bushels, down 32 percent from June 1, 2019. On-farm stocks totaled 92.0 million bushels, while off-farm stocks totaled 125 million bushels. The March - May 2020 indicated disappearance is 168 million bushels.

Old crop all wheat stocks in all positions on June 1, 2020 totaled 9.37 million bushels, down 44 percent from June 1, 2019. On-farm stocks totaled 0.280 million bushels, while off-farm stocks totaled 9.09 million bushels. The March - May 2020 indicated disappearance is 5.83 million bushels.

IL JUNE ACREAGE:

Corn: Planted area, at 10.9 million acres, is up 4 percent from 2019. Harvested area for grain, at 10.7 million acres, is up 5 percent from last year.

Soybeans: Planted area, at 10.40 million acres, is up 5 percent from 2019. Harvested area, forecast at 10.35 million acres, is up 5 percent from the previous year.

Winter wheat: Planted area for 2020, estimated at 570,000 acres, down 12 percent from the previous year. Area harvested for grain is forecast at 500,000 acres, down 9 percent from previous year.

Hay: Harvested area of all hay is expected to total 490,000 acres, up 17 percent from 2019. This total includes 240,000 acres of alfalfa and 250,000 acres of all other hay.
