IDOA, IFCA info on dicamba

The Illinois Fertilizer and Chemical Association and Illinois Department of Agriculture are providing information regarding this week’s ruling to vacate product registrations for use of dicamba herbicide over the top of soybeans and cotton.
The U.S. Court of Appeals in the 9th Circuit issued the ruling which impacts Xtendimax, Engenia and FeXapan. IFCA participated in a call with the IDOA and various farm groups for guidance on Thursday.
After examining the ruling, IDOA legal counsel believes it clearly calls for the stop of the sale, use and distribution of all uses of these three products. Officials say the Tavium registration is not impacted by the court ruling. Tavium is a dicamba product but supply could be tight.
More information is expected to be released from the IDOA or the USEPA on how to deal with the product which is already in the supply chain.
