GMS helps livestock producers
CROPSEY – GMS Labs of Cropsey is making life easier for livestock producers by doing some of the legwork for them.
The business is working with those who have livestock facility numbers which require perimeter tile water testing on a quarterly basis.
“We are going to be sending out pre-packaged containers, labels and return address labels – a whole packet that just makes it super simple,” said Georgia Steffen of GMS.
When the package arrives, all a producer has to do is fill the container, place it in a plastic bag and affix the addressed pre-paid label to the box and put it in the mailbox. GMS then gets the sample, analyzes it and sends results to the farmer and the Department of Agriculture to stay in compliance.
“We also will notify the Department of Agriculture if you let us know your perimeter tile is dry,” Steffen explained. “All you have to do is send one little e-mail out when you receive your package and we’ll let them know you will be bypassed this month.”
GMS is busy preparing for the fall testing season. The ag business helps producers with manure and soil testing, nematode analysis, nitrogen stalk analysis and soil health studies.
