74th LCSWCD meeting planned

PONTIAC - The 74th annual meeting of the Livingston County Soil and Water Conservation District is set for Thursday, Jan. 24 from 8-10 a.m. at the Pontiac Elks Lodge.

A breakfast buffet will be available starting at 8 a.m. followed by a brief business meeting, election of directors and presentation of the Conservation Farm Family and Conservation Partners. Jonathan Coppess will serve as the featured speaker. He is an ag law professor at the University of Illinois and will discuss the new Farm Bill which was recently signed into law.

Tickets for the breakfast are $10.00 and can be obtained through the district office. There will be no ticket sales at the door and members of the public are encouraged to reserve tickets by Jan. 17.
