Tentative farm bill agreement reached
A tentative agreement has been reached on the farm bill, according to House and Senate ag leaders.
The House and Senate Agriculture Committee Chairmen Mike Conaway of Texas and Pat Roberts of Kansas along with Ranking Members Collin Peterson of Minnesota and Debbie Stabenow of Michigan made the announcement on the state of 2018 farm bill negotiations.
The statement reads: “We are pleased to announce that we have reached an agreement in principle on the 2018 farm bill. We are working to finalize legal and report language as well as CBO scores, but we still have more work to do. We are committed to delivering a new farm bill to America as quickly as possible.”
