PONTIAC – The Pontiac Indian football team is now 2-0 for the year after defeating Tolono Unity 20-10 Friday night in the CIFN Sports Central game of the week presented by the Precision Planting PTI Farm at Pontiac.

It was a special night at PTHS as the school recognized the 25-year reunion of the 1993 Class 3A state football champions. Players, coaches, managers, cheerleaders, administrators and media representatives who covered that champion team were honored at half-time and will be recognized during other festivities planned throughout the weekend.

A community social is planned for Saturday (Sept. 1) from 5-7:30 p.m. in the Pontiac High School commons area. Members of the public are invited to a meal. A formal presentation begins in the school auditorium at 6:15.

The Central Illinois Farm Network interviewed members of the Pontiac FFA chapter and advisor Jesse Faber prior to the game. Also, thanks to local radio veterans Mark Myre and Tim Scott for helping out with the play-by-play on the CIFN Facebook page during the first half of the game.

CIFN Sports Central is sponsored by: Precision Planting, Bank of Pontiac, Petersen Motors in Fairbury & Gibson City, Driscoll Motors, BCS, Graymont Co-op, Potential Ag, Stine Seed, Prairie Central Co-op, Joan Bullard Realty, Martin-Sullivan John Deere, Nu-Ag Technology and Mid-Illinois Electric Inc.
