Illinois acreage, grain stocks info

Corn stocks in all positions on June 1, 2018 totaled 948 million bushels, up 7 percent from June 1, 2017. On-farm stocks totaled 365 million bushels, while off-farm stocks totaled 583 million bushels. The March - May 2018 indicated disappearance is 696 million bushels.

Soybean stocks in all positions on June 1, 2018 totaled 250 million bushels, up 52 percent from June 1, 2017. On-farm stocks totaled 70.0 million bushels, while off-farm stocks totaled 180 million bushels. The March - May 2018 indicated disappearance is 125 million bushels.

Old crop all wheat stocks in all positions on June 1, 2018 totaled 28.6 million bushels, up 19 percent from June 1, 2017. On-farm stocks totaled 0.490 million bushels, while off-farm stocks totaled 28.2 million bushels. The March - May 2018 indicated disappearance is 10.8 million bushels.

Corn: Planted area, at 11.00 million acres, is down 2 percent from 2017. Harvested area for grain, at 10.85 million acres, is down 1 percent from last year.

Soybeans: Planted area, at 10.90 million acres, is up 3 percent from 2017. Harvested area, forecast at 10.85 million acres, is also up 3 percent from the previous year.

Winter wheat: Planted area for 2018, estimated at 590,000 acres, up 18 percent from the previous year. Area harvested for grain is forecast at 550,000 acres, up 17 percent from previous year.

Hay: Harvested area of all hay is expected to total 470,000 acres, down 4 percent from 2017. This total includes 210,000 acres of alfalfa and 260,000 acres of all other hay.
