Dryness spreads across Illinois
The most recent U.S. Drought Monitor released Thursday morning (May 24) shows an area of abnormally dry conditions creeping into Central Illinois.
Much of McLean, Ford, Woodford and the northern part of Tazewell counties are dry along with the southeastern portion of Livingston County. A large chunk of western Illinois is also experiencing dryness.
Hancock County in the western part of the state appears to be the only county in Illinois in moderate drought as of this week.
