Area students win IAA scholarships

The 2018 IAA Foundation Scholarship recipients have been announced.

Almost 70 students were selected to receive scholarships based on their academic achievement, participation and leadership in school and community organizations and financial need. A total of $123,600 will be distributed to help with tuition costs for the 2018-19 school year. The Foundation received a record 370 applications this year, representing 86 counties across the state.

Area recipients include:

Kassidy Kimpling of Livingston County. She was awarded $5,000 as an IAA Foundation Top Scholar.

Emily Vaughn of Iroquois County. She was awarded the $4,000 Illinois Soybean Association Checkoff Program Scholarship.

Chet McClure of Ford County. He was given the Jean Stubblefield Memorial Scholarship for Veterinary Medicine at $3,000.

Maddie Fugate of Champaign County. She won the Collegiate Farm Bureau Scholarship of $1,000 for Community College.

Kylie Miller of McLean County. She received the Collegiate Farm Bureau Scholarship of $1,000 for Community College.

Laine Honegger of Livingston County won the Dale E. Butz $1,000 scholarship.

Jacob Larkin of Livingston County received the Vinvent O. Greene Memorial Scholarship of $1,000.

Jordan Johns of Livingston County won the William J. Kuhfuss Memorial Scholarship for $1,000.

Tess Cummings of Iroquois County received the St. Louis District Dairy Council $1,000 scholarship.

Luke Zimmerman of Livingston County also received the St. Louis District Dairy Council $1,000 scholarship.
