Grand opening planned for barn

TOWANDA – An old restored barn will be unveiled during a special event this month near Towanda.

A grand opening for The Old Rugged Barn is planned for Nov. 11 from 1-7 p.m. at 18808 N. 2000 East Road in McLean County. The event will feature pictures with Santa, food, performances and various vendors. Donations will be accepted.

The barn will be available for weddings, reunions, concerts and other events. The barn’s main area is 2,400 square feet and has two restrooms. A loft is 1,100 square feet. According to the owner, the barn was built in 1920 on around three acres of land. The property has been awarded with a Centennial Barn Designation from the McLean County Barn Keepers group.
