Good genetics = good yields

We have good genetics to thank for the good yields this fall. That is according to the retail manager for Brandt Consolidated.
“The corn hybrids and bean varieties can do very well under stressful conditions,” explains John Allen.
Turns out the USDA yield estimates weren’t as far off as we initially thought.
Allen urges growers to closely monitor a field’s nutrient needs before winter. We have experienced a good soybean crop following good corn last year and that was possible due to good nutrient levels.
“If you want the crop in ’18 to have the same opportunities this crop had, they you’ve got to get equal amounts of nutrients out there,” Allen added.
