History displayed at museum

CULLOM – The Cullom Historical Museum is all settled in to its new location in the small eastern Livingston County town.

The museum’s opening last August was the result of a lot of hard work from volunteers like Sandy Gunther, who presides over the Cullom Historical Society. The museum has been divided into sections which include a bedroom, kitchen and dining area.

“We have a lot of old pictures of businesses,” Gunther explained.

The museum is operated through donations. The society sells calendars each year featuring historical pictures and they sold out of the calendars last year. A fundraising Festival of Trees event is held at the end of November.

Tours are available the fourth weekend of every month, but if anyone wants to visit during a different time, just give Gunther a call and she would be happy to give you a tour.

“For those of you that are familiar with Cullom, this used to be the old store. This is a building that has been here for many years and then it was the True Value Hardware Store.”

You can’t miss the museum when traveling through downtown Cullom. It is on the north side of the street next to Krossroads.
