Farm & Home Show this weekend
If this year’s Prairie Central FFA Farm and Home Show is anything like last year’s, event organizers should be pleased.
The 36th annual show, held in 2016 at the Upper Elementary school in Forrest, saw decent weather and a nice crowd. Sealtite Insulation had a fairly large display, which caught the crowd’s attention.
“We really try and support local events like this and try to give back to the community. People have been very good to us here,” Sealtite owner Jeremy Leman said.
Show attendees always look forward to the annual displays by the Fairbury Prairie Farmers and Forrest Fireflies 4-H clubs. One of the clubs even had a goat and chickens on hand last year for youngsters to enjoy.
“Everybody seems to be driven toward the animals,” 4-H leader Mary Vaughan admitted.
The always-popular pork chop and pork burger lunch is served in the school cafeteria throughout the day. Also, look for Kent Casson in The Central Illinois Farm Network booth doing live coverage from the event throughout the day.
