Local FFA'ers honored

Members of the Prairie Central FFA chapter were honored with a resolution during the December meeting of the Prairie Central Board of Education.
The P.C. FFA performed extraordinarily well at the national level in the fall. The dairy products team was a national winner. Farm business management received second, poultry was third and ag mechanics received ninth place at nationals.
“We had to judge some milk, identify cheese and take some tests,” said dairy products member Loretta Knapp.
“I did like the team problem – all working together. That was a lot of fun,” added Megan Ifft.
Kylie Miller is a member of the livestock judging team which was 19th overall. Also, she was a gold emblem individual. National convention is Miller’s favorite part of FFA as she was on the livestock team this past year and in ag sales prior to that.
“Now I’m looking forward to nationals next year because we just came back with a dairy products state championship,” Miller stated.
While reading the resolution, board member Mark Slagel said the school district congratulates and holds in the highest esteem the Prairie Central FFA judging program.
