CPR/first aid course offered
“Farming can be an incredibly dangerous occupation. In the case that an accident does happen, farmers need to know how to handle the situation until help can arrive,” Jenna Kilgus, Promotions and Education Committee Chair of the Livingston County Farm Bureau, states.
The P and E committee along with Southeast Livingston County Ambulance Service (SELCAS) are hosting a training specifically for farmers, their staff and families.
SELCAS paramedics will be teaching this course to any interested Farm Bureau member at no charge. The morning will start with a course in CPR. They will then go over 1st aid that farmers can use. Each member will also go home with a basic 1st Aid kit to have in their equipment.
This course will be on Thursday, January 26, 2017. Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. The course will start at 8:30 and run until 11:30. We will be at the SELCAS building at 310 W Locust St, Fairbury, IL 61739. Parking will be at Culkins corner on the south side of the building.
Seating for the training is limited so please call the Livingston County Farm Bureau to register at 815-842-1103 or email livcfb@gmail.com.
