IPPA plans regional meetings

The Illinois Pork Producers Association prides itself on being a grassroots organization. Every fall, regional meetings are held across the state for members to attend and provide valuable input on issues facing the industry.

“These regional meetings give IPPA the opportunity to have candid conversations with producers about what issues impact them and what they expect from their association.” says Jennifer Tirey, IPPA Executive Director.

This year’s meetings will cover a variety of topics. Customary elections for open board positions, selection of delegates for the annual meeting, and the opportunity to formulate resolutions will take place, as usual. IPPA staff will target their discussion towards issues the industry is currently facing, including the January 1, 2017 veterinary feed directive changes, the GIPSA rule, and the importance of TPP for pork exports. Attendees will also be participating in a Q & A discussion regarding the 2018 Farm Bill.

A meal will be provided at each meeting. All hog producers are invited to attend any meeting. We ask that RSVP’s be submitted at least five days prior to the meeting you plan on attending.

The meeting dates and locations are, as follows:
