Centennial barns to be recognized

The McLean County Barn Keepers will launch a new centennial barn program during this week's McLean County Fair at Bloomington.

The non-profit group is looking to designate the century-old structures "Illinois Centennial Barns." For those barns verified to be 100 years old or older, owners will have the chance to receive a 24x24 inch durable outdoor metal sign to attach to the building. The reflective red and white sign includes the State of Illinois outline and the Barn Keepers logo.

Information on the project as well as applications will be available at the Barn Keepers booth during the McLean County Fair, August 3-7. Applications will also be available after August 6 on the website: www.barnkeepers.org.
